Two more “Mbogi La Izram Territory” gang members detained in Kakamega.

Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations have detained two more members of the “Mbogi la Izram Territory gang” (DCI).

According to a DCI report shared on Twitter on Sunday, the two were arrested during a sting operation that was directed at gangs in Kakamega and Western Kenya.

Omar Juma, 35, and Clinton Emonye, 21, were allegedly planning to commit a crime when they were arrested on Saturday night in Kakamega, according to authorities.

The two led officers to their home at Kakoi Corner, close to Kabras Market, where various electrical and household goods suspected of having been stolen were seized. They were armed with rudimentary weapons including metalcutters and sharp metal rods.

After being detained, the two were kept at the Kakamega Police Station until their Monday meeting with fate.

The continuing comprehensive security sweep in Nyanza and Western Kenya, according to the DCI, aims to eliminate criminal gangs that have persisted in endangering public safety.
