A taxi driver has been arraigned over allegations of touching a visiting Congo diplomat before dropping her off at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.
Julius Kieti is said to have been working for the company contracted to facilitate the diplomat’s drop off at JKIA on May 30 after a conference in the city.
Court papers show that the diplomat, identified only as KMB, boarded Kieti’s vehicle from the Kenya School of Monetary Studies.
On their way to the airport, Mr. Kieti then reportedly began touching the woman on her private parts without her consent.
He is also said to have parked the car by the roadside and hopped onto the back seat to continue groping her. The papers also state that the driver sat on the diplomat’s laps but she pushed him away.
The case was reported at the Kenyan Embassy in DRC.
Appearing before the Makadara Law Courts, Kieti denied the charge and as released on a Ksh.200,000 bond or a cash bail of a similar account.
The case is set to be heard on September 1.
