Speaker of the Kericho County Assembly Dr. Patrick Mutai has raised concern for his safety following two days of allegedly being followed to his home in Nakuru by an unknown vehicle.
Dr. Mutai claimed in a statement made outside the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) offices in Nakuru that unidentified people allegedly followed his movements and inquired about his home.
The event was “traumatizing,” he claimed. “When I alighted at my home, the unknown persons attempted to obtain entry into my home but were repulsed by my security.”
Some Kericho MCAs who went with him to the DCI offices claimed that the occurrence followed a pattern similar to disappearances that had recently occurred throughout the country.
“We don’t know why such an incident occurred; if there is such reason, individuals should not go to such extremities,” said Londiani MCA Vincent Korir.
A criminal investigation into the incident has begun, according to George Momanyi, the criminal investigations officer for Nakuru East sub-county.
