Six alleged thugs detained in Mathare with knives and rolls of Bhang

Six alleged thugs were detained by National Police Service (NPS) officers on Monday in Mathare 1 after they were forced out of hiding.
The six, who ranged in age from 20 to 26, were found to have four blades, a stone, and eight rolls of marijuana, according to NPS.

They will continue to be held by police as they await arraignment.

While attempts are being made to stop the rising number of mugging incidents in the nation, NPS has committed to stay tenacious in the protection of life and property.

The most recent arrest comes in the wake of several others that were arrested in recent weeks as a result of Interior Cabinet Secretary Prof. Kithure Kindiki’s declaration of all-out war on gangs.

In response to reported cases of insecurity, CS Kindiki stated that the government was aware of the public outcry and was determined to take decisive action to rid Nairobi and other towns of criminal gangs.

In order to subdue the gangs, GSU officers have also been stationed across the country.
