Nairobi’s long-distance PSV Matatu operators won’t relocate to the Green Park Terminus at Uhuru Park from their current spots.
This comes after the High Court ruled that the present situation must continue through December 13.
At least eight long-distance travel agencies filed a lawsuit in this matter to oppose Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja’s order requiring them to relocate to the Green Park Terminus by December 1.
The new mandate, according to Governor Sakaja, is a component of efforts to reduce congestion in the Nairobi CBD.
The operators, however, claimed that the choice was unfair because it left out some of their competitors.
They continued by saying that Sakaja’s order will put businesses at risk of severe losses and annoy long-distance travelers, who frequently bring pretty substantial luggage, particularly during the holiday season.
North Rift Luxury Shuttle, Madaraka Prestige, Transline, Great Rift Shuttle, Legacy Luxury, Kina 2015 Classic, Sasaline Classic Shuttle, Blue line, Team Swat, and Transliner Galaxy are among the petitioners in the lawsuit.
