Revealed: Migori Men And Murang’a Women Have The Most Sexual Partners.

A recent poll reveals that Murang’a County has the highest proportion of women who have more than two sexual partners.

According to the Kenya Demographic and Health Survey (KDHS) 2022, which was issued on Tuesday by the Kenya National Bureau of Statistics (KNBS), 11% of Kenyan women who have many sexual partners are from Murang’a.

Kericho County accounted for 6.5 percent of the total, while Busia made 6.2 percent.

With 28.7% of men admitting to having more than two sexual partners, Migori County tops the way, followed by Elgeyo Marakwet (28.5%) and West Pokot (27.2%).

Additionally, men were more likely than women to report having two or more sexual partners in the year before to the poll, with 15% of men and 4% of women reporting this.

Men typically have 7.4 partners, whilst women have 2.3 partners.

The Kenya Household Master Sample Frame (K-HMSF), the frame used by KNBS to conduct household-based sample surveys in Kenya, served as the source of the sample for the 2022 KDHS.

In the past 12 months, 24% of women and 45% of males who had more than one partner reported using a condom during their most recent sex, according to the study.

Only 37% of these women reported using a condom during their most recent sexual encounter with a partner who was neither their husband nor someone they lived with in the 12 months before to the poll, although 19% of women reported having sex with such a partner.

It continued, “35% of men reported having sex in the previous 12 months with a person who was neither their wife nor a roommate, and 68% of these men reported wearing a condom during their most recent sexual encounter with such a partner.”

Additionally, it was discovered that Kenyans who had experienced divorce or widowhood were more likely to have had multiple sexual partners.

69 percent of the female respondents who acknowledged to having had more than two sexual partners in the previous year were either divorced, separated, or widowed.

2.2% of those who had never been married were already married or cohabitating with their spouses, making up 4.3 percent of the population.

According to the study, 26.7% of men who had more than two sexual partners in the previous year are either divorced, widowed, or separated.

13.8 percent of the sample were never married, while 15% were married or cohabitating with their partners.

The 2022 KDHS data collection period ran from February 17 to July 13, 2022.
