Prof. George Magoha, a former cabinet secretary for education, passed away at the age of 71.
After a short illness, Prof. Magoha reportedly passed away at the Nairobi Hospital on Tuesday night.
Professor Magoha collapsed at home and was taken to the Nairobi Hospital A&E, according to a later message to newsrooms from Nairobi Hospital CEO James Nyamongi. He couldn’t be revived, despite their best efforts.
Since then, the deceased’s body has been moved to the Lee Funeral Home.
On March 26, 2019, he took the oath of office to lead the ministry of education. He held the position until President William Ruto nominated his successor on October 27, 2022.
