Preacher Arrested on Theft Allegations Of Over Ksh.2M Intended For Church Seats

After allegedly defrauding ACK Mwea Town Church of Ksh. 2 million, which was intended for the purchase of 410 seats, a clergyman was detained.

According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), Gilbert Kariuki and his wife were hired to transport church seats on February 9, 2013, but they broke their agreement and fled.

Part of the statement said, “The ‘Man of God’ neither delivered nor showed up. The church leadership engaged Apostle Blessed Gilbert Kariuki and his spouse to give 410 seats to the church on or before April 10, 2023.

The church vicar reported to the police after hearing from church members that attempts to find the preacher had been fruitless.

Kariuki was arrested by the police and brought before the Wanguru law courts where he was charged with collecting money under false pretenses.
