Police Officer Manning KCSE Exams Vanishes With Invigilators’ Cash

After being captured on CCTV robbing female invigilators’ handbags, the police officer managing the ongoing KCSE exams at Kimulot Secondary School in Bomet County is now on the run.

The officer allegedly went into a room where the invigilators were storing their stuff, including phones and other valuables, and plundered the bags, according to the county police commandant Mathews Mangira.

After learning that the cash in their handbags could not be found, three victims have taped statements.

“One of the victims said that she lost 100 shillings, another reported losing 900, and the other reported losing 300,” continued Mr. Mangira. “This prompted them to speak with the school administration to inspect the CCTV camera.”

The cop can be seen entering the room, sitting between some purses, and searching each one one at a time before departing.

At the same time, Mr. Mangira stated that the investigators are reviewing the footage to help produce distinct visuals that can be useful when putting together the case against the defendant.
