Police in Kuria West, Migori County, are looking for a person of interest after it was reported that person attacked a senior police officer inside a local nightclub on Sunday.

The officer in command of the Masaba Police Post went to Apple Bar in Masaba Centre after receiving reports from concerned customers that the suspect was openly brandishing a machete and a knife inside the bar, according to Kuria West Sub-County Police Commander Cleti Kimaiyo.

The guy apparently let go of his machete as the officer tried to disarm him, went for his knife, and stabbed the officer in the right upper thigh before fleeing into the night.

Kimaiyo claims that the cop, who was severely bleeding, was taken to Masaba Medical Center and treated there before being released.

The suspect is still at large at this time.
