Siaya Governor James Orengo has launched a scathing attack on the Judiciary of Kenya led by Chief Justice Marta Koome over their recent ruling in favor of William Ruto’s statehouse bid as new details emerge.
James Orengo has alleged that Martha Koome’s final ruling on the Presidential Petition was not just accusing the team of the 7 Supreme Court Judges of using the Judgement as a political trap for the Azimio One Kenya Alliance team led by President Uhuru Kenyatta and former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.
“The judges at the Supreme Court are all my Juniors in law. And I want to say this without fear and contradiction. The Judgement that they rendered without fear was not a judicial judgment. The literature contained in that Judgement was not the Judicial literature. That was a political trap, it was meant to serve a purpose which had nothing to do with the law,” the Siaya Governor has said.
“The person who wrote that Judgement has done a great injustice to the rule of law. Judges speak in words that are measured and are tempered so that even the loser in a court of law feels that justice has been done,” Siaya Governor James Orengo who was part of the Azimio One Kenya Alliance lawyers in the Presidential Petition has added.
The remarks from Governor Orengo come after a recent statement by Raila Odinga’s running mate Martha Karua who said that she is not yet satisfied with the Supreme Court ruling on the Presidential petition saying,
“I heard the Supreme Court saying that our arguments [in the presidential petition] were akin to hot air. Let me say that a hot air balloon can take me to the East African Court of Justice. I am considering whether to travel on a hot air balloon to the East African Court just to discuss that [Supreme Court] judgment,” said the NARC-Kenya Party leader.
