For abducting and gang-raping a woman in Nakuru County, two men were given a 15-year prison term.

In an appearance before Nakuru Senior Resident Magistrate Emmanuel Soita, Geoffrey Moriasi and Isaya Mogaka were found guilty of gang rape in violation of Section 10 of the Sexual Offences Act.

According to Magistrate Soita, the prosecution’s case had been sufficiently supported by the evidence presented by PC Annastacia Mumbe.

The victim in the February 7 incident at Kaptembwo Estate in Nakuru West sub-county was first kidnapped by the accused before being blindfolded and carried to an unidentified house, according to evidence presented in court.

The two continued to rape her all night long.

“During the verdict, Soita concluded that there was sufficient evidence, including the identification of the accused, lack of victim consent, and proof of the criminal act and thus concluded that the prosecution successfully proved the case beyond a reasonable doubt,” the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) said in a statement.
