Four suspects are being sought by Nakuru County police after they allegedly destroyed a railway line in Burgei Village, Rongai.
When police from the neighborhood approached the suspects on Sunday night, they had already begun disassembling 65 rails and 120 footwear and loaded them into a waiting vehicle, according to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).
DCI said in a statement released on Monday that when the loaders and driver of the vehicle noticed the police, they “quickly took off leaving the lorry registration number KCH 646T filled with the vandalized products.”
According to the investigating agency, the railway line connects Rongai with Kampi ya Moto and Solai.
The DCI condemned the incident and stated that anyone found guilty of damaging essential national infrastructure would face appropriate sentence.
The suspects are still on the loose at this time.
