In an attack by armed thugs in the Mazembe region of Nakuru county, a police officer attached to the Recce Squad was slain after suffering significant injuries.
Harrison Onywonki and his two brothers, Hezron Onwonga and Morara Onwonga, were attacked by a group of roughly five armed suspects, according to a police report made public on Sunday.
The three brothers were attacked with machetes and rungus as they were walking down a dim hallway on their way home from a family gathering in Nakuru City Center.
According to the police complaint, the three brothers engaged in a physical altercation with the suspects who had stolen their phones, which resulted in several physical injuries to each of them.
Police officers on patrol took them to the Nakuru Provincial General Hospital (PGH), but Onywonki passed away from his injuries while he was being treated.
According to the police report, “Kenya Police Service officers and DCI officials visited the area under the leadership of SCPC Nakuru West and Sccio Nakuru West.”
“The other two brothers received decent treatment and were released.”
