
On Wednesday, a 26-year-old woman was arraigned and accused with stirring up trouble in a way that might disrupt the peace.
According to court documents obtained, Tabby Ndung’u was detained on Tuesday after reportedly provoking police officers to shoot her before yelling at them.
According to the charge sheet, “On January 24, 2023 at TRM Drive in Kasarani sub-county inside the Nairobi County, [the defendant] made a disturbance in a manner likely to cause a breach of peace by yelling to the police officers, ‘Shoot at me!'”
“On January 24, 2023, at TRM Drive in the Kasarani sub-county of Nairobi County, [the suspect] used abusive language with the purpose to create a breach of the peace in a public road, TRM Drive.
On January 24, 2023, at TRM Drive in the Kasarani sub-county of Nairobi County, “[the suspect] used insulting language with purpose to create a breach of the peace” in a public place.
After entering a guilty plea to the charges, Ms. Ndung’u was given the option to pay a Ksh.10,000 fine for each of the two offenses or spend six months in jail.
