An appeal has been made by a family in Nairobi’s Chokaa area to the police to look into the circumstances surrounding the disappearance of their seven-year-old son last Thursday and the subsequent discovery of his body three days later in a septic tank close to their home.

Jerome Christiano, according to his relatives, was last seen conversing with an unknown person in the estate before going missing.

The late-night hunt was fruitless. According to his mother, she was told that the last time her son was seen in the estate, he was conversing with a total stranger, who she suspects may have been the cause of his demise.

A postmortem assessment at the city morgue identified drowning as the cause of death. The family wants police to undertake detailed investigation into the incident in order to get the truth about what may have caused the death of the 7-year-old who was set to celebrate his birthday on Friday before starting Grade Three this week. However, they are still left with many doubts.

Jackson Sang, the Deputy Sub-County Commander for Kayole, has stated that detectives are looking into the situation.
