Nairobi: Businessman Found Dead After Wife Declines to guarantee Ksh.2 Billion Loan.

A businessman was discovered dead at his house in Karen, Nairobi, on Monday morning. Detectives in Nairobi are looking into the circumstances surrounding his death.

According to a police report on the event, Mr. Francis Kiambi Kiriro’s wife Mary Waigwe Muthoni reported his death. She reportedly informed police that they had spent some time at an entertainment venue at Karen Shopping Center before returning home with her husband at approximately midnight.

Following the wife’s alleged refusal to serve as her husband’s guarantee in securing a Ksh. 2 billion loan he was pursuing to launch a business, the couple is said to have experienced some domestic issues.

After their argument, the two apparently went to separate bedrooms to sleep, but the 50-year-old politician-turned-businessman was later discovered dead with vomit by his bedside.

“They each spent the night in a separate room, and the deceased never woke up after that. However, he could be heard snoring all day and all night, and he had puked in his room.  It was until today at around 6:00 a.m. that she went to check on the deceased and discovered him dead on his bed with some vomit next to the bed, According to the police report.

“They contacted a doctor from the Karen hospital, who at around 09:02 o’clock confirmed the death.”

The businessman’s body, which was later taken to Lee Funeral Home, was found to be free of any evident injuries, according to police who responded to the scene.

Adamson Bungei, the commander of the Nairobi Regional Police, has acknowledged that the event is still being investigated.

The late candidate, a prominent businessman, had previously run unsuccessfully for the Tharaka Nithi County senatorial seat.
