Police in Mombasa are looking into an incident where a police officer is accused of killing his wife by shooting her three times.

Emaily Masinza, 30, was shot twice in the thighs and stomach on December 6, 2022, and was transferred to the Coast General Hospital for treatment before passing away from her injuries early on Friday morning.

After her husband, Bamburi Police Station officer Meshack Kosgei, killed her, the late Masinza’s family, led by her father John Azangu, is calling for justice.

The father claims that the couple has been married for three years, but that their marriage has been plagued by arguments for some time.

According to reports, the incident occurred on December 6. For the previous 10 days, Masinza had been receiving care at the Coast General Hospital, where physicians were able to extract two bullets before she passed away from her wounds.

“Hata ndio nimegundua walitoka police station…huyu si ni muuwaji, sasa askari anatoka police na risasi hiyo ni vizuri kweli?” Posed Mr. Azangu.

Topister Juma, a gender oficer in Muhuri, said: “Ilikuwa ni ndoa ya malumbano hata wakatoka wanaishi nje ya kambi…huko nje mambo ilikuwa ni hayo hayo.
