A 39-year-old man was given a 40-year prison term for defiling an eight-year-old relative by a Mombasa court.
According to a statement released on Tuesday by the Director of Public Prosecution, PC Barbara Sombo’s prosecution team successfully prosecuted Mwarabu Omar Pato and obtained the sentence for him.
The court was informed during Pato’s appearance before Senior Resident Magistrate David Odhiambo that the heinous act was carried out by Pato on November 14, 2022, in the Mikanjuni area of Jomvu Sub-county in Mombasa County.
As per Magistrate Odhiambo’s ruling, the prosecution had presented incontrovertible evidence proving the identity of the criminal, the victim’s age, Post-Rape Care (PRC), and P3 documentation.
