
An unidentified person defiled a primary school pupil in the Suna West Sub-county on Sunday when she was on her way to school, and she is currently receiving medical attention at the Migori Referral Hospital.
Location of Suna Oruba The 13-year-old girl was on her way to school when an unknown person offered to drive her to school in his car, according to Chief Charles Ouma. However, after dragging her to a nearby bush, the unnamed person abused her.
Following the incident, the culprit allegedly drove the girl to a neighboring tree plantation in the Rumors area, abandoned her off there, and then sped off.
The Chief claimed that boda boda riders who were nearby when the culprit abandoned the pupil chased him, but he was unsuccessful in stopping. They were able to record the vehicle’s registration number, which belonged to the alleged child molester.
The vehicle used by the suspect was reportedly detained in the Kowino area of Suna West Sub County and is currently being held at the Oruba police station for further investigation, according to Ouma.
The children department has also taken notice of the situation, according to the area head, who is hopeful that the suspect will be apprehended and put on trial.
Ouma assured that they would see to it that the pupil received justice.
