As protesters taking part in the anti-government demonstrations organized by the Azimio La Umoja One Kenya coalition barricaded major routes, transportation in Migori town was paralyzed on Thursday morning.
The youths blocked the roads by piling stones over them and sitting on them, making them impassable to both vehicles and motorbike taxi drivers.
Many businesses were still shut as of 8:30 a.m.
For the third time, anti-government demonstrations were staged on Thursday in protest of President William Ruto’s administration, the high cost of living, and other issues.
Odinga believes that the protests are lawful and won’t end until the government complies with the opposition’s requests, despite the police having deemed them illegal on Monday and last week.
