Migori: 4 Foreigners Arrested For Being In The Country Illegally

Four Burundians have been detained by police in Kuria West, Migori County, for entering the country without authorization.

The four, who range in age from one to thirty-two, were spotted stranded at Isebania Bus Park, according to area police commander Cleti Kimaiyo.

The four were detained as a result of a tip from the general public. Authorities said they think the four entered illegally across the Kenya-Tanzania border.

“They lacked any sort of travel authorization. The immigration department has received them for further action ” Kimaiyo remarked.

This is a part of an ongoing campaign against foreigners who are unlawfully residing in the country, Kimaiyo stated.

13 Burundians were detained in Isebania town last year after being dropped off at the Isebania bus park by Tanzanian boda boda operators.

According to police, the Burundians were attempting to board vehicles traveling between Migori and Kitale when they were stopped.
