Yesterday mega celebrations were witnessed countrywide after the judicial announcement which declared William Ruto as Kenya’s fifth President. Ruto’s win was affirmed by the Supreme Court after going through the submissions presented by both sides.
It was a big blow to Raila Odiga as he lost the case as well as the presidential position. We’re not so sure if that is the end of the road for him or in the next five years he’ll still be on the ballot.
Raila’s running mate Martha Karua didn’t go silent after the announcement despite the loss suffered. She took her Twitter account early this morning and sent a warming message to Azimio La Umoja supporters. As published on twitter by KBC digital, Karua thanked those who stood with them during the election moments. She thanked them for fighting, being patriotic and courageous during the journey.
This message comes hours after her yesterday’s message concerning the supreme court decision. According to media houses karua said that she respects the court’s decision but still she disagrees with it’s findings.
Azimio La Umoja team will be making it’s political announcement later on as per Raila’s remarks through his secretary.
