Malala: As Raila Matches To State House, UDA Supporters Will Storm His Karen Home On Monday

The head of the Azimio la Umoja One Kenya coalition party, Raila Odinga, has scheduled a massive demonstration on Monday. The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party has detailed countermeasures in place.

According to Cleophas Malala, the UDA Secretary General, the strategy calls for a march to Mr. Odinga’s Karen home while he will be leading his own supporters to the State House.

Malala asked Ida Odinga, the opposition leader’s wife, to make enough tea and fish “during our visit to her house on Monday” before personally leading UDA members to Karen.

“As you undertake what you are calling peaceful rallies to State House, we shall also be doing peaceful demonstrations to your home,” declared Malala on Saturday.

The UDA Secretary General was addressing Machakos County party delegates during a meeting at the Machakos University amphitheatre to inform them about the upcoming local elections.

He reassured the opposition leader that he will have access to sufficient security personnel throughout the protests, but he also reminded him that State House is a protected area and is off limits.

Malala advised the previous premier to forbid his supporters from engaging in acts of violence and property destruction.

He continued by assuring UDA followers across the nation that the upcoming party grassroots elections will be free and fair and free of what he referred to as dark-suited political brokers.
