Magoha Issues Statement on Postponing KCSE And KCPE Exams

Education Cabinet Secretary, George Magoha, has dispelled reports and demands to postpone the national examinations and extending term dates following a disruption occasioned by the just concluded General Election.

According to Magoha the exams will still take place as scheduled in November, this was after calls from various stakeholders to postpone the exams due to the just concluded general elections that interrupted the school calendar.

Parents had also called for the reduction of school fees payable in the third semester urging that kids would not stay in school for long.

The second term end on the 16th of September where kids will break for just on week before reopening for the third term.

This will end the two-year crash programme occasioned by the pandemic interruption of 2020. The regular school calendar will resume in January 2023.

The association also decried the hiked fares during schools closing by some rogue matatu operators.
