In Mwala, Machakos County, a man was taken into custody on incest charges.
The father was apprehended at the Muthwani sublocation in Kathama location, Mwala subcounty, according to police commander Nancy Jerebon. He had been frequently defiling his stepdaughter there.
According to Jerebon, the suspect was detained on Thursday when the Grade 6 pupil, then 14 years old, told her stepfather about her ordeal.
On Thursday at 6 o’clock in the evening, the incident was reported as an incest incident report to the Mbiuni police station.
In Machakos town, the mother of the youngster was not present when the arrests were made, according to Jerebon.
The suspect had been detained at the Mbiuni police station until his court appearance for the incest offense, according to the police chief.
She stated that inquiries into the incident had begun, and that after the investigation was over, the suspect will be brought before a judge.
The arrest occurs just one day after Joyce Kamene, a Machakos Woman representative, denounced the excessive number of defilement cases in the Mwala subcounty.
Kamene urged everyone in the community, including the appropriate authorities, to join forces in the fight against child abuse, particularly defilement, and drug and alcohol misuse.
