Machakos: Angry Neighbors Evict Woman Accused of Using Witchcraft to Delay Rains

Enraged neighbors accused a mother of eight of being liable for the region’s failed rains and expelled her from her family home in Kisewani village in Yatta, Machakos County.

According to sources, irate neighbors accused the 48-year-old woman of witchcraft stormed her home on Tuesday, knocking down the roof and removing all of her valuables.

The neighbors said that the woman possessed a male reproductive part, which she supposedly brandished in the morning to keep the rains away, in claims that read like something out of a horror film.

As part of an elaborate cleansing rite, the neighbors are claimed to have slaughtered a goat and forced the woman to ingest its entrails and blood.

Several photos obtained, show household belongings purportedly removed from the woman’s house strewn by the roadway, maybe to restore order in the peaceful village.

The woman will be relocated to a nearby police station, according to Machakos Deputy County Commissioner Lilian Njagi, who spearheaded the operation on Tuesday, because she has a Class 8 kid who is scheduled to take examinations next week.
