Two robbers on Wednesday were run over by a school bus at Tiwi area in Kwale County, just moments after they stole a phone from an M-Pesa shop.
According to police reports, the suspects were fleeing the crime scene on a motorcycle when they veered into a highway without considering oncoming traffic.
This proved costly as their motorcycle was immediately rammed by a school bus which was heading to Likoni from Msambweni.
Both muggers died on the spot while the occupants of the bus escaped unscathed.
“They sped off when locals started chasing after them. They then rode into the highway without checking whether there was an oncoming vehicle and immediately got hit by the bus,” Matuga police boss Hassan Godana told the press.
The yet to be identified bodies of the pair have since been moved to Kwale hospital mortuary.
