Police in Mwingi, Kitui County, have detained a coworker for allegedly stabbing a school bursar in a dispute about school fees.

Mwingi Central OCPD Peter Mutuma said Haji Boru went to Mwingi Boys Secondary School on Monday to collect a cash return of additional money paid through the Constituency Development Fund (CDF).

After the bursar, Alex Mwanzia, informed Mr. Boru that the money could only be moved to his son’s college tuition account, chaos ensued.

According to reports, the cop pulled out a knife and stabbed the accounts controller near his left armpit. He is now being treated at a local private hospital while awaiting the recording of a police statement.

Boru is now being detained at the Mwingi Police Station awaiting his arraignment.
