Police in Kisumu West sub-county are searching for the guy who fatally stabbed his brother after an argument over a piece of land in Chulaimbo community.
On Tuesday night, Ogolla Olang’o reportedly stabbed his brother twice close to his heart. As a result, he was taken to Chulaimbo Sub-County Hospital.
Martin Oindo, the location chief for North East Kisumu, verified the event and said the victim, who had been heavily bleeding, had subsequently been taken to Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital (JOOTRH), where he sadly passed away from his stab wounds.
Olang’o, the suspect, who also sustained a cut wound during the ruckus, was treated at Chulaimbo but later fled after realizing his brother was in serious condition, according to Chief Oindi.
Oundi noted that following the event, a group of allegedly hired goons from Kisumu arrived on the residence on a vengeance mission and set three homes on fire.
He claims that the brothers’ mother had to be evacuated to safety and that it took the intervention of anti-riot police from Maseno police station to settle the situation after they engaged the youths in running battles.
The family has reportedly been involved in a land dispute for some time, and the chief claimed that his office frequently intervened to try to find a peaceful resolution before the tragedy.
