Kisii police have initiated an investigation into the deaths of a mother and her two children in Riamasagara village, Kisii County.
Kisii County Commander Charles Kases confirmed the occurrence and stated that the three suffered severe burns as a result of the fire that destroyed their home on Wednesday night despite all attempts to put it out.
The mother passed away at the Nyangena hospital while receiving emergency care, while the two youngsters, who were between the ages of 10 and 12, died in their house.
At Kisii Referral Hospital, a second minor who managed to flee with terrible injuries is battling for his life.
Police say they have not yet determined what started the fire.
In the course of the incident, the father is also said to have escaped via the window.
The deceased’s bodies have been taken to Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital in anticipation of an autopsy.
