Kirinyaga: Governor Waiguru of dismisses six members of her previous cabinet & retains four.

The county assembly of Kirinyaga has been tasked with vetting 10 candidates for County Executive Committee membership. The process began on Thursday and is expected to end on Friday, October 28.

Waiguru only kept four officers from her former Cabinet out of the 10 nominations. They are James Mutugi (Finance), Dennis Muchiimi (Sports), Jacqueline Njogu (Finance), and Rev. Samuel Kanobe (Lands) (Education).

Six candidates for County Executive Committee (CEC) members were examined by the Kirinyaga County Assembly’s Committee on Appointments on Thursday in Kerugoya.

The committee, which was led by Kirinyaga County Assembly Speaker Julius Murimi Mutemi, reviewed the nominations of Jacqueline Njogu (finance and economic planning), George Kariuki (public health and sanitation), Dr. John Gachara (agriculture and fisheries), Calbert Njeru (cooperative development and trade), James Mutugi (education), and Veronica Waweru (environment, water, and natural resources).

On Friday, the committee will interview four more candidates for the CEC. They are Dennis Muchimi (Transport), Jared Migwi (Transport), Millicent Ngari (Gender and Youth), and Rev. Samuel Kanobe (Lands, Physical Planning, and Housing) (Sports, Culture and Social Services).
