Kirinyaga: 14-year-old boy commits suicide.

Unknown factors led to the suicide of a 14-year-old boy from Kibingoti village in Ndia, Kirinyaga West, who was set to enroll in secondary school after taking his KCPE examinations in 2022.

James Gatithi, the boy’s father, claimed that he had successfully paid the boy’s fees and was just getting ready to send him off to school when he learned of his untimely passing.

Gatithi claimed he had spoken to his son the day before and that he had been happy to inform him that he had secured a school for him. The father informed the boy that he had previously paid the admission costs and had been given a receipt.

Eunice Wanyaga, Gatithi’s sister, who joined the family in sorrow, characterized the dead as diligent and submissive.

Wachaga claimed that the dead and her were in continuous contact and that he never once mentioned that he was thinking about taking his own life, adding that the news of his passing surprised the entire family.

As the boy’s family makes burial arrangements, the boy’s body has since been transferred to a neighboring mortuary.
