Following a tour to Kerio Valley, the CS announced that the number will increase from the 10,000 reserve soldiers who had previously been assigned to insecure areas.
He wrote on Tuesday that the decision to abruptly and without cause withdraw almost 10,000 reserve members had resulted in significant loss of innocent lives and property.

The Interior CS visited a family who lost two children in a bandit attack on Sunday along with his Transport and Infrastructure counterpart Kipchumba Murkomen.
The two—a Form 3 student and her younger sister, a Class 7 student—died after the bandits shot them before robbing the household livestock they were tending.
As part of the early steps to remedy the issue, Murkomen said, “I thank my colleague Prof.Kindiki for the prompt response&for putting in place the process to repatriate the Police Reservists.”
Kindiki has promised to “destroy bandits” and put an end to the widespread cattle disputes in 2023 since taking over the security docket.
