Police in Kasarani, Nairobi, have detained a guy who is accused of posing as a detective in order to extort money from unwary businesses in the region.
James Obwangi Nyakundi, 33, is accused of impersonating an OC Crime Detective from Kasarani Police Station.
The majority of his victims are claimed to be bar owners and wine and liquor distributors.
While confirming the event, Kasarani Sub County Police Commander Anthony Mbogo stated that they are investigating Nyakundi, who was caught in the act, and that there have been too many documented complaints of the same.
Nyakundi is being held in police custody pending his arraignment.
