Kandara By-Election: UDA Party’s Chege Njuguna Wins

Chege Njuguna, a candidate for the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party, has won the Kandara Constituency by-election.

Njuguna won the by-election on Thursday with 21,650 votes, defeating Ford Asili’s Titus Njau Mbuchu, who earned 14,678 votes.

Following Alice Wahome’s nomination as the Cabinet Secretary for Water and Sanitation, the Kandara seat became vacant.

Njuguna wins one of the four by-elections held on Thursday, including Garissa Township, Elgeyo Marakwet, and Shella Ward in Lamu, becoming the second candidate in the faction led by President William Ruto to do so.
