Kakamega: Voting Materials Arrive Ahead Of Governor Elections

Voting materials have arrived in Kakamega County, in preparation of the Governor elections to be held on Monday, August 29.

On Sunday morning, the voting materials were being transported to all 12 constituencies in Kakamega County.

According to the IEBC Return Officer Joseph Ayata all the equipment will be at respective constituencies by Sunday afternoon in preparations of the exercise that will see voters decide Governor Wycliffe Oparanya’s successor.

The 844,709 voters in Kakamega will decide on who between ANC’s Cleophas Malala, ODM’s Fernandez Baraza, UDP’s Cyrus Jirongo and Samuel Omukoko of MDP party becomes their next Governor.

On Monday, the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) will also oversee governor elections in Mombasa County, Parliamentary elections in Kitui Rural, Kacheliba, Pokot South Constituency and Rongai Constituencies.

Elections for Member of County Assembly Wards will also take place in Kwa Njenga and Nyaki West.
