Three boys’ bodies were pulled from a river in Kajiado County on Monday.
On Sunday night, the missing boys—ages 8, 10, and 12—were reported missing. They were sent by their parents to a seasonal river to fetch water, but they never came back.
Their clothing and water jerricans were discovered on the riverbanks after a frantic search by their parents.
The recent rains had caused the river to swell.
The remains were recovered after six hours by response teams from the Kenya Wildlife Service and Kenya Police.
Shadrach Ruto, the sub county police boss, stated that it’s believed by investigators that boys decided to swim rather than go get water.
“Since the water is still murky, getting stuck is simple. It is regrettable that three of our youngsters have perished in this situation “stated he.
The victims’ bodies were sent to the mortuary at Loitokitok hospital.
