In Ngong Town, Kajiado County, a three-day-old newborn girl was spotted abandoned under a Mugumo tree next to an SDA church on Monday.
The church’s watchman told a local publication that he heard the baby’s cries at 2:00 am on Monday.
A watchman manning a nearby property at six in the morning called Ngong police officers.
As soon as they arrived, the police collected the infant, who is now being attended at the Ngong Sub-county hospital.
Felistar Mukunjura, the deputy police commander of Kajiado North Sub-county, confirmed the occurrence and added that investigations had already started.
The parents of the infant are still unknown.
