The much-anticipated inaugural Nairobi Festival began on Monday at Uhuru Park following the Jamhuri Day festivities.
Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja declared the event as a week-long celebration of the “spirit of the city” that would take place every December.
Food, the arts, matatu art prizes, and exhibitions on specified city streets are all included.
Photos from the first day showed attendees swarming into the park to experience the inaugural festival, with the majority being young people and families.
Nairobi residents were treated to music, food, leisure, and recreational activities among the strong security visible patrolling the location.
