Hollywood Takes Over King Kaka’s New Movie “Kamtupe”

The new movie “Kamtupe,” starring the multi-award-winning rapper King Kaka, has arrived in Hollywood and will be shown in Los Angeles, California.

According to a press release from Kenya’s consul general in Los Angeles, Big Ted, the movie will be shown on October 27, 2022, at 7 p.m. Eastern time, at “The Comedy Nook” at 7456 Melrose Avenue in West Hollywood.

The Nairobi-based film “Kamtupe,” written and directed by King Kaka, actual name Kennedy Ombima, depicts the theft of a government employee’s laptop when he enters a seedy slum in search of a relative.

But as luck would have it, the laptop contains vital State material that, if revealed, may spark a civil war in the nation.

The crime thriller stars well-known actors from the Kenyan film industry, including the movie’s protagonist Jimmi Gathu and prominent media figure Jeff Koinange, who is tasked with doing voice-over work.

The movie also stars Brendah Jons, Kelvin Musili, Vincent Otieno, Joyce Maina, Zack Matasi, and Fidel Maithya, as well as artist Femi One and YouTuber Stanley Obienji.

Songs from singers including Otile Brown and Kaka Empire signees Femi One, Kanambo Dede, Mbithi, and Jadi are included on the soundtrack to the film.
