Boaz Cherutich, county commissioner for Garissa, issued a warning to students not to assault teachers in the classroom, reminding them that anyone found guilty will face the full weight of the law.

In order to decrease incidences of school misconduct, he also asked parents and teachers to collaborate.

He made these remarks after a teacher suffered serious injuries during an altercation with a pupil from class 6.

After being questioned about why he hadn’t been up for class since the start of the new school year, the boy reportedly attacked his teacher.

After the fight, the pupil allegedly fled the building, only to return moments later brandishing a knife and stabbing the teacher in the ear.
