Prior to entering the cabinet retreat in Nanyuki on Friday, Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua took a moment to pray for the success of President William Ruto’s economic transformation agenda.
The DP said on Twitter that he prayed with Mount Kenya in his view on the slopes past River Rikkia.
For the three-day first Retreat for Cabinet and Senior Ranks of the Executive, which was organized to strategize the country’s economic transformation, Gachagua and Ruto arrived at the Fairmont Mount Kenya Safari Club on Thursday evening.
Gachagua claimed that the hour-long hike and crossing of the River Rikkia on the way to the summit brought to mind Kenya’s long struggle for independence.
Gachagua prayed to “Mwene Nyaga” while facing the mountain, asking for Ruto’s health and wisdom as he leads the restoration of the dignity of the Kenyan people.
Gachagua also thanked God for the kindness and freedom he had provided the Kenyan people.
The retreat is anticipated to give Cabinet members and senior executive ranks a forum to develop creative and efficient plans for accelerating the nation’s economic growth.
