Police have detained four robbery suspects who are allegedly planning attacks in the counties of Meru, Embu, Kirinyaga, and Tharaka Nithi.
Two robbery-with-violence suspects named Benard Fundi and Risper Wambui were apprehended in Embu during the first operation.
The ongoing operation in the Mount Kenya region, according to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), has resulted in the recovery of simple weapons that were allegedly used in the crimes.
The DCI announced on Friday that Benard Fundi and Risper Wambui had been detained last night in Embu town and that they had been the subjects of “crucial exhibits relating to different robbery cases in Kigumo, Runyenjes, and Kiritiri retrieved.”
Machetes, swords, and metal cutters were among the crude weapons found in a getaway car utilized by the accused.
On the same day in Meru County, two additional thugs were also taken into custody under identical circumstances.
The public has thus been urged by the detectives to give any information that can help catch offenders.
