Former MP Found Brutally Murdered, Tongue And Eyes Gouged Out

Mark Barasa, a former member of parliament for Bungoma East, was found dead on his family property in Tongaren, Bungoma County, on Wednesday.

The first MP for Bungoma East, 99-year-old Barasa served from 1963 to 1969.

The eyes, tongue, and left hand of the deceased were reportedly removed, and the body had been partially burned with acid.

The family claimed that they had looked everywhere for him and even made public announcements in the hopes of locating him since they believed he had lost his memory and was unable to navigate back to their house.

Barasa had 27 children with his four wives.

His family paid tribute to him, noting that when he served as an MP, important projects like Webuye Pan Papers, Lugulu Girls, Chesamisi Boys, and Friends School Kamusinga were brought to the community.

The victims’ family members are now pleading with the government to expedite its investigations and prosecute those responsible.

The mortuary at Cherengany Nursing Home received the body.
