The National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) has fixed a bug that caused its system to display expired license numbers for all currently valid drivers.

In a statement dated December 2, NTSA said that the error, which had caused a stir across the country, was the result of a technical problem.

The mistake affected the NTSA’s Transport Integrated Management System’s license verification and even renewal procedures (TIMS).

“Is something wrong with your system? When driving licenses are verified, they are all expired “NTSA received a social media query.

“We are attempting to fix the technical problem. We apologize for the trouble this has created “In response to the irate drivers, the transportation authority took action.

Minutes later, the NTSA fixed the problem, enabling drivers to renew their licenses and use other services on its online portal.

“The problem has been fixed. Please submit the application “NTSA tweeted in response to Gachuhi Kangara.

Drivers have voiced concern because it is illegal to operate a vehicle when their license is suspended or expired.
