Eliud Owalo, Cabinet Secretary for Information, Communication, and Digital Economy, has refrained from commenting on Ezra Chiloba’s suspension from the Communication Authority of Kenya (CA).

On Wednesday, Owalo stated that he was unaware of anything regarding the suspension of Chiloba.

Owalo stated that he is responsible for formulating policy.

The CS went on to say that he was unable to comment because he had not yet obtained official communication.

Christopher Wambua was named acting director general on September 19 after Chiloba’s suspension as director general of the CA.

Following a board meeting on Monday, the suspension was announced in an internal memo by board chair Mary Mungai.

Two years after he was added to the docket, he was suspended. Following Francis Wangusi’s retirement in 2021, he succeeded him.

Chiloba was expected to hold the position for a four-year term that was renewable, per the appointment letter.
