Ex-Gatanga CCM Secondary School Deputy Principal Arraigned Over Student’s Murder.

Kiambu Law Court approved the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) Homicide detectives a request to detain the former Deputy Principal of Gatanga CCM Secondary School at the Gigiri police station for seven days.

Elizabeth Wairimu Gatimu is a suspect in the 2019 death at the school of Ebbie Noelle Samuels.

The former deputy principal made an appearance before Kiambu Deputy Registrar Sylvia Motari on Monday. She is scheduled to get a mental health evaluation at Mathare Mental Hospital before being brought before a High Court judge for the purpose of entering a plea on February 9.

ODPP Prosecutor Mr. Kelwon pleaded with the court to give them enough time to gather the evidence while asking to keep the suspect in custody for an extended period of time.

Ebbie’s justice was postponed for four years, according to the victim’s attorney Kiroko Ndegwa, but having an accused individual arraigned in court today gives his client new hope.

Wanjiru Samuels, Ebbie’s mother, expressed her appreciation for the court’s ruling.
