DPP drops the Tob Cohen murder case.

The murder of Dutch tycoon Tob Cohen has been dropped by the Directorate of Public Prosecution (DPP).

The late tycoon’s wife Sarah Cohen and two other people are accused of killing him, and the DPP said the matter will now be lodged as an inquest.

“According to a letter from the DPP, it has been ordered that this case be addressed through an inquest that will be filed before the Chief Magistrates court in Milimani, Nairobi.

“This will allow all parties to hear a thorough explanation of the violations that have interfered with this case’s proceedings. Additionally, this will give parties the chance to present any information that hasn’t been thoroughly studied before the court.”

Three years after Sarah Wairimu was charged, the matter has never been resolved.

Former Philips Electronics East Africa CEO Cohen’s body was discovered in a sewage tank at his residence in September 2019.
