Bungoma: Military Official Beaten To Death

Three persons have been arrested in Kimilili, Bungoma County, for reportedly attacking and killing a medical military officer assigned to the Moi Air Base barracks.

According to OCPD Mwita Marwa of the Kimilili Police Station, who confirmed the occurrence, an altercation broke out between the officer, named as Edward Barasa, and a group of rowdy adolescents he was drinking with at a chang’aa den in Maeni village.

The military guy is then alleged to have been attacked by the adolescents with punches and kicks before one of them struck him in the head with a wooden club.

According to reports, Barasa passed away before getting to the Kimilili sub-county hospital, where he was being rushed for care since he had major cuts on his head and left hand.

Mr. Marwa has since cautioned ocals against taking the law into their own hands, adding that security forces have initiated investigations into the incident in order to bring the attackers to justice.
